This project grew out of an interest in depth maps and their use in orthodox CGI productions. The work involved experimenting with ways of carrying the CGI pipeline and its image treatment techniques over to still, real-life material. The result is an ongoing search for an emotional, human and haptic visual experience, one that begins with the technical translation of depth map imagery.

This exploration led to the creation of two similar but distinct series of images. One series focuses on grayscale depth map compositions with statue-like, Renaissance-style poses that emphasise the details, shapes, and print patterns of the garments. The other series focuses on the overall haptic feeling and texture of the image, akin to tapestry or etching , showcasing casual, off-center and in-the-moment movements and compositions.
